DRUG & ALCOHOL INFORMATION SCHOOL
We provide statewide standardized curricula for both adults and adolescents referred for alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) violations. For tobacco, we offer a standard Tobacco Information School (TIS) and a 10-week Hazelden (ASCENT) court-ordered tobacco cessation program for adolescents with multiple tobacco violations. A modified version of the ASCENT program is offered in the high schools. Violations related to drug and alcohol use are addressed during the Victim Impact Panel (VIP), specifically for adults and teens with one or more DWIs, and the Alcohol and Drug Information School (ADIS) and its under-18 counterpart YADIS, for anyone found guilty of alcohol- or drug-related offenses. Finally, we offer 18-hour pretreatment groups for clients in need of more in-depth support than is provided by ADIS but who do not require treatment.
