Project Alert
Middle school students at Dzantik’i Heeni and Floyd Dryden are participating in Project ALERT, a school-based program which uses social resistance to decrease students’ experimentation and involvement with cigarettes, alcohol and marijuana. The Project ALERT lessons use a video and then group activity and discussion facilitated by a prevention specialist three times a week. The curriculum consists of eight lessons the student’s first year followed by three “booster” sessions in the second year.
